Hi, I'm Ash. I'm an amateur writer struggling to figure out what, exactly, it is that I want to write, and how to get there. I'm making this blog with very little expectation that people will read it, let's be honest. The age of blogging is over. But really, it's a very useful tool for me to read books critically, think about them critically, and learn about what works for today's fiction and what doesn't. I'd like to draw from a wide variety of source material--fiction, nonfiction; current releases, older works; my genres of choice, and everything else--to give myself a kind of well-rounded writing and reading education. With luck, it might be interesting to someone else. It might even be helpful to someone else. But at it's core, this is just some random person thinking their thoughts and opinioning their opinions. Grains of salt, as always.
